Door and drawer count
Each removable part must be labeled, cleaned, prepared, coated on specified sides, cured, transported or staged, and reinstalled. Detailed profiles take longer than flat slab doors.
Grease, damage, and old coatings
Heavy residue, peeling clear coat, open seams, dents, and hardware holes add work. Failure-prone laminate or swollen MDF may change the project from painting to repair or replacement.
Frames, ends, islands, and interiors
Visible frames, finished end panels, crown, toe kicks, open shelves, islands, and cabinet interiors should be listed. If only doors are priced, the final kitchen may not match.
Application and coating choice
Brushed, rolled, and sprayed systems have different masking, setup, and finish expectations. Durable cabinet coatings also have specific primer, recoat, and cure requirements.
Indiana conditions
Summer humidity can lengthen dry and cure time. Winter projects may need temperature and ventilation planning. Controlled conditions help the coating level and harden consistently.
